====== The Team ======

Team games need a team. Your own is created by giving it a name; you join somebody else's through the captain's invite link.

The team page opens from the cabinet — the **"Team"** tab, the "Open the team page" link; the whole of it is also embedded in the cabinet itself.

===== Your Own Team =====

If you have no team, the page carries a form: think of a name and press **"Create"**. Whoever creates it becomes the captain.

===== Joining Somebody Else's =====

The invite link is handed out by the captain. The link leads **to the team page**, and by itself it does nothing: opening it, you see the line **"You are invited to the team …"** at the top and the **"Join the team"** button. Until you press it, you are not in the team.

  * **Not signed in** — instead of the button there will be "Sign in" and "sign up" links, and after signing in you are brought back here.
  * **Already in another team** — the engine asks again: "Are you sure you want to move from the team …?".
  * **The link has gone stale** — you see "Ask the captain for a new invite link — this one is out of date".

You do not have to wait for an invitation, either: somebody else's team page carries **"Apply to this team"**, and then it is up to the captain. Your own application can be withdrawn.

===== The Invite Link =====

The captain and the half-captain see the **"Invitation to the team"** card on the team page:

  * the link itself — **a click on it copies it to the clipboard**;
  * the **"Refresh the link"** button: the old one stops working after that. This is what you want if the link has leaked.

> Do not confuse it with the **"Anonymous entry to the game"** — a separate link by which your players play one particular game **without signing up**. It lives on the game card, and only the captain can cancel it.

===== The Roles =====

A team has five positions: **Captain**, **Half-captain**, **Player**, **Reserve** and **Application** (someone who has asked to join but has not been accepted yet).

Above the roster, one line says who you are and what you may do:

  * **captain** — the roster, the invitations and the team name are yours;
  * **half-captain** — the roster, the invitations and the half-captains are yours, the name and the captaincy are not;
  * **player** — you play for the team; the captain changes the roster;
  * **reserve** — on the roster but not in the main line-up;
  * **application** — waiting for the captain's answer.

The roster may be changed by the **captain and the half-captain**. In a member's row they have a three-position toggle — **"Half-captain" / "Player" / "Reserve"**; the current one is highlighted, and pressing it again is harmless. The captain's own row has no toggle.

Someone who has applied has two buttons instead of the toggle: **"Accept"** and **"Decline"**.

==== The Captaincy ====

The **"Make captain"** button belongs to the **captain** only — a half-captain cannot pass the captaincy on. The former captain becomes a half-captain, so they do not drop out of the team.

> The button fires **on the second press**: after the first one it renames itself to "100% Make captain" for three seconds. That is how every irreversible button on this site works.

**A captain cannot leave the team** — the captaincy has to be passed on first. Everyone else has "Leave this team".

==== Removing Someone ====

**"Remove"** — and the person is left **with no team at all**, not on the reserve. They can immediately create one of their own or accept somebody else's invitation. The captain cannot be removed.

===== What Else Is on the Team Page =====

  * **"Roster"** — with a count and a "Last seen" column. On a narrow screen the table unfolds into cards.
  * **"Active games"** — with the "All", "Applied", "Accepted", "Test" and "Playing" filters.
  * **"Rated games"** — the place, the name, the start time.
  * **"Awards"**.
  * **"History of roster changes"** — the date, the login, what happened and by what means. An arrival through the invite link is marked **"By link"**, and repeated identical events are collapsed into one row with "×N".

The team name is changed by the captain — with the pencil next to the title, in place.

> A **temporary team** is a team for one game, created by the organiser (for entry by QR code, say). The page labels it as such.
