Creating and Copying a Game

Registered users cannot create a game independently to prevent spam.

To request a new game:

1. Register on the domain website.
2. Contact the domain administrator (contact info is usually at the bottom of the pages).
3. Provide your username on the site.
4. The admin will create a game slot and assign you as the author. The game will show up in your author panel.

The card of your own game looks different from the player's one: “Edit” appears next to “Enter the game”, and under them “Team contacts” and “One-time teams”. Further down the same card are the applications and the list of accepted teams.

If you need to duplicate a game (e.g. for a second season, migration to another domain, or backup before major edits):

1. In the author panel, find the game and click “Copy Game”.
2. A clone will be created with all tasks, settings, hints, codes, and bonuses.
3. The clone's name will start with `#` (e.g. #Copy of Game Name) making it invisible to regular players.
4. The copy is created without registered teams and statistics, acting as a clean template.

To transfer a game to another QEng domain:

1. Export the game to JSON (see Exporting to JSON).
2. Log into the target domain and request a new empty game from the admin.
3. Import the JSON file into the new game slot (see Importing from JSON).
