Section for Administrators

An administrator is also the author of all games on the domain.

On top of any page of the domain the administrator sees a black bar — the admin panel.

The domain admin panel: the administrator sees it on top of any page

Its items are grouped:

  • Domain — “Administrators”, “Design”, “Translation”, “Payment system”, “Pages”.
  • Games — “New game” (opens a dialog, see below), “Games of other domains”, “Season rating”, “Playing now”, “Recent games”.
  • Server — engine internals, visible to the super-administrator only.
  • Wiki — this wiki.

On the right there are two things:

  • “Version: Public” — not a version number but a switch. Clicking it puts this domain, in your browser onto the “In development” build of the engine and back; in that state the caption turns red, so that you do not forget you are not seeing what a player sees. The choice is remembered for a month and applies only to the domain you clicked it on: switch on one and the next one still shows you the public build.
  • “Server time” — the clock all the games of the domain start and end by.

On a narrow screen the items move under the burger.

There are two hosts. This bar is on the domain's game site. Some of the admin screens also live on a separate admin host, reachable from here; the hosts have separate sessions, so you will have to sign in on the admin one separately.

“Games” → “New game” opens a dialog with two fields:

  • Game type — team or single-player;
  • ID of the game to copy — leaving it empty means “create an empty game”.

So an empty game and a copy are one and the same form. The details, including what is and is not copied, are on the Creating and Copying a Game page.

An empty game gets the name #New Unnamed Game. Games whose name starts with # are visible in the list only to authors and admins — a player reaches such a game only by a direct link. A copy is named “Name (Copy)”, without the #, so it is worth renaming right away.

A new game has no authors. Add the author in the game settings — otherwise the game will not appear in their list.

Several of the domain's games can be gathered into a season and given a total score per team: The Season Rating. In the bar: “Games” → “Season rating”.

In the bar: “Domain” → “Payment system”. On the admin host the same screen is called “Payments”.

Be sure to check that the server time on the admin panel matches your local time. Games will start and end according to this time.

In the event of daylight saving time changes, the time is updated automatically and the engine accounts for this correctly during games.

The administrator is the author of all games on the domain, but you can assign yourself as an author for a specific game, or you can add other players as game authors.

Authors added to the game and the administrator have completely identical permissions for editing and managing the game.
