Single, Team, and One-off Team Games
QEng supports several participation formats depending on your game design and target audience.
Single-player Games
In single-player games, each player competes individually.
- How it works: A player registers, submits a request to the game, launches it, and submits codes individually.
- Best for: Quizzes, solo quests, virtual challenges where no team collaboration is needed.
Classic Team Games (With Registration)
Classic format for street games and team car quests.
- How it works: A captain creates a team on the site and invites members via username. The captain submits a request for the game. Once started, all logged-in team members see the same game screen, submit answers together, share hints, and see the same team statistics.
- Best for: Active team quests, encounter games where players belong to established teams.
Games with One-off Teams (No Registration)
A unique format designed to minimize friction. Ideal for corporate events, promo games, festivals, or onboarding new players.
Main Advantage: Play without Registration
Players do not need to register or verify emails. This saves time and allows starting the game in seconds.
How it works:
- The administrator or game author enables support for one-off teams in settings.
- A list of teams is generated, and a unique login link or login/PIN is created for each.
- Players click the link or scan the matching QR code and immediately enter the game under that team.
- All players scanning the same QR code (or opening the same link) automatically join the same team and play collaboratively.
- No passwords or email addresses are needed.
