Welcome to the documentation section for game authors on the QEng engine!

Here you will find all the necessary information to create, configure, host, and automate your games.

For a quick introduction to the engine features, it is recommended to complete a special training game:

  • 1. Game Hosting and Formats — hosting options (one-off game or custom subdomain), financial terms, single/team formats, and player entrance via QR codes without registration.
  • 2. Game Management — how to request a game, copy games, configure game settings and sequences (lineups).
  • 3. Task Creation and Editing — editing scenarios: formatting, media insertions, code/hint/bonus configurations, offline answer checks, scripting, templates, and AI task generation.
  • 4. Testing and Conducting Games — testing options, inviting testers, game lifecycle, auto-transitions, archiving, and reviews.
  • 5. Administrative API and Import/Export — technical documentation on JSON game import/export, Google Sheets integration, and embedding options.
  • Creating a custom game subdomain is free.
  • The cost of hosting a game is equal to the entry fee of one team for that game (capped at $20).
  • If the game is free to play, hosting is also completely free.
